Stories and history

90 years is a long time. In these last 90 years our house has seen many changes. Whilst restoring the house we wanted to preserve as much of its historical character as possible... Many of the objects were restored and given a new lease of life, saved from the past and transported to the now. Take a walk down memory lane!

The original "doctor’s house" in San Pietro in Val di Funes is a beautiful villa built in 1929/1930 in the typical style of those days, designed by the architects Amonn & Fingerle - Bolzano. For the past ninety years it has basically remained unchanged.

In 2018, we embarked on an exciting adventure, renovating the existing structures and building new ones. We entrusted the project to the experience and competence of surveyor Siegfried Graf and trusted architect Zeno Bampi as our consultant for all fittings and furniture.

The guidelines were clear and well-defined: this was going to be a technical renovation with an eye towards history and an open mind for modern furniture and materials. Today the house lives on all these reflections and interventions: restored furniture, old tile-stoves, careful choice of paintings and coatings, individual lime and silicate based stencil painting according to historical models. We even recycled the old door numbers for the rooms.
